Bo Yan won first place in the AAG annual student best paper competition

Big Congrats to Bo Yan who won first place among five finalists in the Geographic Information Science and Systems Specialty Group (GISS) annual student paper competition.

Bo Yan won first place with his work, where he integrates a core component of traditional geographic information technology, geocoding (as well as service), with Linked Data to derive geographic knowledge in addition to merely returning coordinates. His paper demonstrates the power of this approach by building a geographic knowledge map interface and showcases some of the key improvements compared to typical web map applications.
