Yingjie Hu and Song Gao were awarded National Scholarships

Blog

Big Congrats to both Yingjie Hu and Song Gao, who were awarded the "2015 National Award for Outstanding Chinese PhD Students Study Abroad" from China Government Scholarship Council (CSC). Only three UCSB students (and yes, two of three are from UCSB Geography STKO Lab!) got this award this year and no more than 500 young talents with remarkable academic achievements across multidisciplinary domains received this award all over the world. They get motivated to continue trying their best to achieve a successful future career by devoting themselves into academic research, teaching and public services.

Awards ceremony was held in the Consulate General of China, Los Angeles. Song also gave a speech as a representative for award recipients.
