POI Pulse paper accepted for publication

Just a quick update to mention that our paper POI Pulse: A multi-granual, semantic signatures-based information observatory for the interactive visualization of big geosocial data by Grant McKenzie, Krzysztof Janowicz, Song Gao, Jiue-An Yang and Yingjie Hu was accepted for publication through Cartographica: The International Journal for Geographic Information and Geovisualization.

As a quick refresher, POI (Point of Interest) Pulse is an interactive application that shows the pulse of user behavior in the Greater Los Angeles area. Visualized through interaction with approximately 170,000 points of interest (e.g., Bars, Hospitals, Parks) rendered through over 12 million tiles, the map displays both typical activities patterns in the region as well as real-time social behavior.
